A Story About An Expensive Mamak Session - RM 1400 vs RM1

This is a true story, which happened 3 weeks ago.

A guy went for a mamak session with his friends. He brought along a laptop (which does not belong to him) with him at that time and used it while discussing some matters with his friends. And, like most people, he ordered a drink - teh tarik.

After being done with the laptop, he shut down the machine and placed it aside, still on the table.

What he least expect to happen is the careless mistake he made. He knocked down his glass of teh tarik, giving the laptop a milky "bath". Fortunately, the laptop was still working. Unfortunately, the LCD screen was affected, as displayed below:

*i kinda think it looks cool, like some one tried to clean the screen from the inside but could not reach the rest of the surface*

So, the guy had no choice but to fix the laptop he damaged. Together with a few other companies, he went to Low Yat to enquire the price. Here are the options gathered:

1. Change LCD screen and fix other minor damages (which was not his fault) - RM 550
2. Trade in the old laptop for a new one - RM 2100 minus RM 800 = RM 1400

The analysis of the situation is: no matter which option he chooses, he will have to pay RM 550. So, if he trade in the laptop, minus the money he MEMANG has to spend, the new laptop in fact only cost RM 750.

And it is a large upgrade because the new laptop has very good specifications (according to him).

To me, it's just a matter of how you see it. No matter what, the guy still has to folk out RM1400 if he buys a new one. If he fixes it, it will only be RM 550.

Anyways, so, the conclusion of the story, the guys' mamak session, which was suppose to only cost about
RM 1, ended up being RM 1400..

Expensive rite?

But, looking at the bright side, he fulfilled his promise. =)

On another note,

Today is my mummy's birthday. And out of 4 of her family members, only 1 remembered and wished her.

Poor mummy, lucky at the end of the day, others remembered.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!
